Released 2026-08-13. 4 updates since release, the newest 2026-08-13.
Newest update: The Royal Briefing (2026-08-13)
- New players now see a welcome briefing their first time on the throne, teaching them the core controls and how to claim land.
- The briefing explains everything you need to know — from moving the camera to building, all in one place before you start.
Earlier update: The March & Minstrel (2026-08-13)
- Watch your soldiers march out in formation to meet the enemy on the field—every battle unfolds in real time before your eyes.
- Dynamic music swells as your column forms and charges, then fades as peace returns to your kingdom.
- Rival factions have consolidated their holdings—expect fewer scattered outposts and stronger, more focused threats.
Earlier update: Steel Clash (2026-08-13)
- When your soldiers collide with the enemy line, dust and sparks explode at the point of impact — a flash of steel meeting steel.
- Soldiers now brace and lean into their strikes, their posture shifting to show the weight of combat.
Earlier update: The Watchtower Update (2026-08-13)
- Every work now goes up as a construction site first — pegs and string, then walls with builders on the scaffolding, then bare rafters, then the finished building in a cloud of dust. It pays nothing and houses nobody until it's done.
- Watchtowers shelter the parcels around them, and rival crowns build them too — their protected land now shows its shield before you march, and taking that parcel takes the tower with it.
- Battle reports name the losses on both sides.
- Soldiers that actually walk to the fight are still being built — they arrive in the next update.
What players say
@mistarpudding · 2026-08-18 · played 40 min: “Whenever I try to build a farm/quarry/log camp, the building is never finished by the workers. I sat there for 3 minutes or so and I am still not getting any resources from any of them. I love the concept of the game (raising your kingdom and conquering others), and I really wanted to try it but I couldn't progress cause I can't get any resources at all.”

This world is @alongzera/for-the-kingdom-2. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@alongzera/for-the-kingdom-2/play.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@alongzera/for-the-kingdom-2@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @alongzera/for-the-kingdom-2; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
