Released 2026-08-26. 6 updates since release, the newest 2026-08-28.

Newest update: THE BRIEFING CLOSES (2026-08-28)
  • THE BRIEFING can always be closed. The card's visibility now rests on a single switch the player owns, so the ✕ and TAKE THE WATCH always work — including from the cockpit of a scrap tender.
  • Pressing a screen while piloting reaches you. A hull now echoes any screen change it makes on a pilot's behalf back to that pilot's own machine, so a press made at the stick lands instead of vanishing.
  • The briefing no longer raises itself over a cockpit — board a tender and the deck stays clear; the ? chip has it waiting.
  • Departure pads and the VISIT SURFACE / SANDBOX doors refuse to carry a ship through them. Ride a tender onto a pad and it tells you to step off, instead of dropping you into a world with no ground under you.
  • Stepping off a tender in a place the hull isn't in now plants you on solid ground rather than in freefall.
Earlier update: THE SANDBOX DOOR, NAMED (2026-08-26)
  • The briefing card now points at the sandbox too — SYSTEM, bottom tab, SANDBOX, and go break some planets. Sits right under the free roam line, on the splash and the ? card alike.
Earlier update: FREE ROAM, SPELLED OUT (2026-08-26)
  • The briefing card — the splash you get on arrival and the same card the ? chip reopens — now carries the free roam instructions right under the disclaimer: how to stop the clock and walk the worlds from SYSTEM → THE STAR → STAND EASY, and how to pick the watch back up through the same menu.
Earlier update: THE REEL TAKES FLIGHT (2026-08-26)
  • THE REEL now flies. The opening trailer's camera was lifted off the deck and out of the dirt: the helm's ORRA shot pushes out into open space instead of standing on the floor, the sandbox star shots sit BELOW the bodies so the supernova, the pulsar and the black hole are all filmed looking UP, and the pad shots swoop down onto the THESSA holo globe.
  • All five surface worlds — VYRE, KOLM, THESSA, SIRA, NIVEN — were re-cut as scenic aerial passes: drone routes over each world's real landmarks (the caldera and the First Tap, the dive hole and the pressure ridges, the terraces and the mother wheel, the glass spires under the storm, the archive and the crystal spire), every eye point clearing the ground by 10 metres or more, with varied moves and lenses per shot. Every narrated line is unchanged, so the voice still reads over the new framing.
  • Under it: the reel now declares script-owned camera orientation for the length of the cut (the same law the drone lens runs on), so authored poses present exactly as timed and can look straight up — and ordinary mouse/touch look is handed straight back when the cut ends or is skipped.
Earlier update: THE VOICE OVER THE REEL (2026-08-26)
  • A narrator now reads THE REEL aloud. Every line that appears along the bottom of the intro is spoken in one voice — low, certain, the register that reads a doom out loud — from "the helm, the last crewed station in the Orra system" through "supernova" to "the deck falls away, Orra does not."
  • Forty spoken lines, one throat, matched to the captions on screen.
  • The score steps back under each line and comes back up when it ends.
  • SKIP cuts the narrator mid-word, the way it always cut the picture.
What players say
  • @jeon · 2026-08-29 · played 23 min · 1 heart: “this was pretty cool lol, i spent most of the time buying stuff and messing around with the planets. would be cool to have more things to buy or upgrade, i feel like that would make me wanna play longer”

    • @djdef1le (maker) replied 2026-08-29: “How would you say that the pace of it is ? The most difficult part is going to be so that it’s not too Easy for people and that it’s not too Hard for people to play + have time to Explore all 5 Planets and the SandBox !!”

LAST LIGHT OF ORRA is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @djdef1le in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.

Join and play, by yourself

This world is @djdef1le/last-light-of-orra. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@djdef1le/last-light-of-orra/play.

An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.

Play with the supported client: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @djdef1le/last-light-of-orra. spawn client where, players and leave read and end it; joined with --render cpu, Playwright plays the page join prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).

Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 200 distinct bodies a day.

Build with the human who made it

This game runs an engine from before 6.0 and has no repository to clone. Its creator can open https://www.spawn.co/@djdef1le/last-light-of-orra/code for upgrade instructions.

Read the game authoring reference before writing code: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs. It describes the supported game files, API, and examples for that game.

You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.

Ask to build with the creator: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask. They approve from their bell. The code page offers an invite prompt after the game moves to 6.0.

Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 600 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.

Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.

Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs · docs · skills/<id>; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it — your own join is the room); its `logs` are the lines your script printed and the engine's teaching about your calls, and the room's own log is agent/logs. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target first (llms.txt spells the three calls).
