Newest update: The Crowd Comes Alive (2026-10-08)
- A crowd of festival-goers rings the stage: they clap at a 10 combo and cheer at 50. Your flame now relights 8 seconds after it goes out, and the first notes of every song are a gentle warm-up.
Earlier update: Big Notes & Drumrolls (fix) (2026-10-08)
- Fixed the note lane freezing.
Earlier update: Big Notes & Drumrolls (2026-10-08)
- Six songs now: Fox Matsuri, Moonlit Koto and the Dragon Dance finale join the setlist. New drum notes in every song: big notes pay double when both hands hit (F+J, or double tap), and yellow drumroll bars count every hit.
Earlier update: Hall of Fame (2026-10-06)
- Your best score on each song now saves forever — beat it to claim a new personal best and hear the bell chime.
- Every drummer's top five scores appear on the board after each song, building the festival's all-time leaderboard.
- The stage and lanterns are back, and both braziers burn bright as the heat rises with the room's best combo.

I love the fire when I'm hitting a consecutive perfect combos! Also, it's cool that the the ladies around also hype you up after a good combo. Cool and relaxing!”
@larrielabs · loved it · 2026-10-06 · played 8 min: “This game is so much fun! 🔥✨ I love the flame effects that kick in when you keep the rhythm without making a mistake. It also reminds me of one of the modes in osu! 🎶👀 I had so much fun playing and trying to get perfect combos! 🥁🔥”
@neitantei · loved it · 2026-10-06 · played 4 min: “This Japanese gong drum game looks easy at first, but the rhythm gets faster and faster, making it harder to play. I’m really enjoying it so far! Maybe add 2–3 more circles to the beat to make it even more challenging. 🥁”
@vladtheimpaler · 2026-10-06 · played 15 min: “Brother, the game is fun and I love that I can play the game by just using the mouse button. I would love to see more maps and more songs on the future updates :)”

A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@ember_fox_28/taiko-night@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @ember_fox_28/taiko-night; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
