A game by @learguy on Spawn.
Genre: Adventure, Sim
Climb the real South Col route: icefall ladders, fixed ropes, thin air, and a summit window that closes.

Long-time professional game designer - just experimenting with the system right now. This took probably less than two hours. Planning to iterate on it just for fun.

Released 2026-10-16. 6 updates since release, the newest 2026-10-16.
Newest update: Khumbu Alive (2026-10-16)
- A living, more dangerous mountain. Hidden crevasses lurk under snow bridges off the route, and the Icefall creaks and calves around you. Storms are thicker and freeze you slowly. Stricken climbers up high can be saved with a spare bottle, and the summary counts them. The info panel now always shows your next acclimatization step. The fixed rope breaks at Camp 3. Camp 3 swaps your part-used oxygen bottle for a full one. Waiting out weather at the South Col costs blood oxygen each night. Oxygen recovers gradually and lasts longer. Summit pushes run through the night. The views are bigger, and ladders and seracs sit properly on the ice. Make it home from the top and your Sherpa team will have a welcome waiting at Base Camp.
Earlier update: Weight Limit (2026-10-16)
- The icefall crevasses are dark now: blue ice fades to black, cold mist rises, and something moans down there. And never share a ladder with another climber. It won't hold two.
Earlier update: Death Zone (2026-10-16)
- The ridge above the South Col is rockier, with boulders, outcrops and wind-scoured rock. Storms up high are now whiteouts: you can see only a few metres, spindrift blasts past you and the gusts shove harder. Camp 4 only half-restores you, and you no longer acclimatize there. Two more unclipped gaps in the summit ropes. Fallen climbers no longer glow at night.
What players say
@learguy · 2026-10-16 · played 2 hrs 53 min: “Thanks for the feedback, folks. Working on smoothing things out so it's a little more of an escalating experience as you get closer to the summit (and less tedious down below).”
@neitantei · loved it · 2026-10-16 · played 8 min: “Reaching the summit feels rewarding! It's challenging at times, but the gameplay can get repetitive. I'd love to see more variety and improvements in future updates.”
@sunraku · loved it · 2026-10-16 · played 5 min: “Hey bro! I literally love this game. It was so challenging. I am just climbing the Everest but the struggle was real cause I need to avoid getting increasing hypoxia + the oxygen was only on designated camps. Such a great game bro”

An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@learguy/everest-south-col@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @learguy/everest-south-col; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
