From the maker
Hi, this is my first game. To find out how well the AI is currently performing, I started developing a game that I used to play a lot (WoW). That’s why I’m familiar with the game mechanics and so on. It’s, so to speak, a “benchmark” that I can use to test and demonstrate how well the AI can bring ideas to life.

33 updates since release, the newest 2026-10-25.
Earlier update: Selectable totems and a new level-up (2026-10-25)
- Click your Earthbind Totem to select it like a unit: it shows in the target frame with its health and time left. Reaching a new level now rings with a fresh energy surge.
Earlier update: Quest sounds and burning fires (2026-10-25)
- Quest accept and turn-in have new fanfares. New quest pages scratch like a quill on old parchment while they write themselves. Fires now burn: step into a campfire or brazier and you take a little damage with a Burned flare. The weapon in the character window now hangs exactly as it does on you. Smoother looting.
Earlier update: The Ashen Peaks (2026-10-11)
- The valley's cliffs and earth have been stripped of their false colors — now a consistent, weathered brown throughout.
- The cave ceiling above the cavern now matches the mountainside, unified in tone and texture.
Earlier update: Painted Ground (2026-10-08)
- The valley floor now shows the true colors beneath the ash—darker earth and stone emerge as you explore.
- Creatures no longer get stuck standing in walls or hovering above the ground when they respawn.
- The terrain itself looks different, with clearer distinction between the rocky walls and the valley floor you walk on.

Valley of Ash is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @sailoshi in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.

This world is @sailoshi/valley-of-ash. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@sailoshi/valley-of-ash.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@sailoshi/valley-of-ash@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @sailoshi/valley-of-ash; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
