Released 2026-10-09. 8 updates since release, the newest 2026-10-15.
Newest update: Night of the Bloaters (2026-10-15)
- Three new zombies on Hollow Lane: fast red-eyed Sprinters, Bloaters that burst in a toxic cloud, and towering Brutes
- Zombie events hit every few waves: Blood Moon, Grave Rise, Fog Surge, Bloater Parade and Big Boys
- Bigger hordes, with more of the dead on the street at once
- Tip: pop Bloaters from far away, their burst hurts you and the zombies around them
Earlier update: Spooky Month: Harder Dead (2026-10-15)
- Zombies mode on Hollow Lane hits harder: bigger waves, faster spawns and more runners. Candy is more generous everywhere: kills drop candy twice as often and drop more of it, held waves pay double candy, the Pumpkin King bursts into twice the candy, and Backyard Brawl now pays candy for every match and spills candy where a brawler falls. New cinematic cover art.
Earlier update: Spooky Month (2026-10-15)
- Spooky Month is live until Nov 9: collect candy from kills and trade it for the limited Halloween crate
- New limited map Hollow Lane, played as ZOMBIES MODE: the dead shamble in, runners from wave 5, a horde every 5th wave, double candy
- The Pumpkin King: a new event boss on a new slot machine, and he bursts with candy when he falls
- New spooky utilities, spooky music, and you can now see the gun other players are holding
- Leftover candy turns into creds when the event ends
Earlier update: Cursor Tracking (IDK what this update is for) (2026-10-10)
- The game now records and displays your cursor position as you play.
- Watch your cursor's movement history traced across the play area.
Earlier update: New Trailer (2026-10-10)
- Watch the squad in action — the new trailer shows off the brand new backyard brawl.

I hope the zombies mode remains even after the spooky month lmao. Such a cool game dude! I only died because I got distracted by my dog lmao.”
- @theduckman (maker) replied 2026-10-15: “Yooo! Thanks for the review!! I’ll think about keeping the zombies mode, if that’s what everyone who plays really wants.”
@yzykyl · loved it · 2026-10-10 · played 23 min · 1 heart: “The gunplay in the game is actually amazing. I love how the recoil is strong but it's controllable and intuitive somehow. Tried the porchlight with the minigun and I'm loving it. Played all 3 maps too. Can't wait to try out other loadouts!”
- @theduckman (maker) replied 2026-10-10: “Yo! thanks for the review! the game is kind of empty right now so the PVP mode is kind of inactive. hopefully this game reaches the right audience! Cheers!”

Join and play, by yourself
This world is @theduckman/hold-the-block. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@theduckman/hold-the-block.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@theduckman/hold-the-block@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @theduckman/hold-the-block; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
