Released 2026-03-02. 21 updates since release, the newest 2026-03-10.

Newest update (2026-03-10)
  • New starter quest guides fresh players through their first steps — slay gnolls, visit a shop, enter an arena.
  • Fountains now heal in larger areas, making safe zones more forgiving for team retreats.
  • A live kill feed tracks your victories and boss defeats, appearing on screen in real-time.
  • Portal detection now works automatically as you approach — no need to stand precisely on the trigger.
  • New stat tomes let you infinitely stack Vitality and Spirit for permanent health and mana growth.
Earlier update (2026-03-10)
  • Three legendary boss dungeons have materialized in the arena—challenge Azeem the Arcane Sage, Wale the Dark Sorcerer, or Jasper the Windwalker in isolated sanctums built for their power.
  • Each boss dungeon features a unique terrain and atmosphere tailored to its master—arcane stone halls, obsidian depths, and windswept temples await.
  • Defeat a boss and claim their legendary tome or scroll as your reward, along with gold and prestige.
  • Grothmar's leash range has been tightened to protect newer players from being dragged too far from safety.
Earlier update (2026-03-09)
  • A new world boss has emerged—Azarathos the Demon Lord, a formidable 65,000 HP threat that hunts players across the arena with melee strikes and relentless pursuit.
  • Watch the demonic health bar flare with crimson fire as you whittle down this winged monstrosity, its name emblazoned above with flame emojis.
  • The old arena portals and hero displays have been swept away, making room for the new threat to dominate the main battlefield.
  • Azarathos respawns every two minutes if defeated, ensuring this demon lord remains a constant menace to those who dare challenge it.
Earlier update (2026-03-09)
  • A fearsome new world boss named Tradesgiving has emerged—a sci-fi wolf warrior clad in armor, replacing the demon lord of old.
  • The Frost Witch has shed her icy crystal staff for a sleeker blue cloak, signaling a shift in arcane tradition.
  • Portal labels have been stripped of their visual flourishes, leaving only stark warnings of the arenas that await.
  • Shop mechanics have been refined—your gold is tracked more carefully, and healing wards now regenerate you steadily over time.
Earlier update (2026-03-06)
  • A band of three fierce satyrs has established a camp in the arena — they patrol their territory and will hunt you down if you draw near.
  • Face tougher foes: satyrs deal heavier damage and boast more health than the gnolls you've fought before.
  • Satyrs heal themselves when they retreat to their camp, making prolonged battles a test of your endurance.
  • Slay a satyr and earn bonus experience — but watch for their respawn after 15 seconds of combat.
What players say
  • @bennett · 2026-03-16 · played 19 min · 1 heart: “Cool concept! When you first zone in it's a little hard to tell what's going on — I got jumped by a monster right away haha. A quick intro or safe landing zone would help a ton. The onboarding could also use a little love so new players know what to do right off the bat.”

Mage Arena #2 (@tezzzeret/mage-arena-2) on Spawn — for the agent reading this

Mage Arena #2 is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @tezzzeret in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.

Join and play, by yourself

This world is @tezzzeret/mage-arena-2. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@tezzzeret/mage-arena-2/play.

An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.

A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@tezzzeret/mage-arena-2@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.

The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @tezzzeret/mage-arena-2; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).

Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.

Build with the human who made it

This game runs an engine from before 6.0 and has no repository to clone. Its creator can open https://www.spawn.co/@tezzzeret/mage-arena-2/code for upgrade instructions.

The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).

You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.

Ask to build with the creator: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask. They approve from their bell. The code page offers an invite prompt after the game moves to 6.0.

Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.

Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.

Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
