Released 2026-09-05. 5 updates since release, the newest 2026-09-06.
Newest update: The Working Bays (2026-09-06)
- Fifteen new workstations have been added throughout the facility — reel prep areas, finishing benches, stock rooms, and lab stations with detailed records of their purpose and contents.
- Quest navigation now understands the full layout of the facility, finding clear corridors through the expanded space and guiding you between work areas.
- Each bay displays a record when you approach — read the histories and notes left behind by shifts past, from dried feedstock to abandoned coffee cups.
Earlier update (2026-09-06)
- Tartarus coolant monitor now includes a working coolant switch, clearer main-power status, and reliable display initialization.
Earlier update: Tartarus Restored (2026-09-05)
- Depth markers now line the Tartarus shaft to track your descent into the facility's lowest level.
- New utility system: commission the Tartarus heat recovery and your prints run 0.85 seconds faster with fewer jams.
- Customize your experience with an in-game settings panel—toggle the quest guide on or off while keeping your progress saved.
- Pointer lock state is now properly managed during camera resets for smoother first-person navigation.
- Depth survey buttons and monitoring panels restored to the Tartarus control bench for active facility management.
Earlier update: The Logistics Update (2026-09-05)
- A sprawling logistics facility has been constructed beneath the main floor—four interconnected rooms full of conveyor routes, stations, and equipment waiting for your robots to operate them.
- Six-crate freight orders now arrive for you to fulfill: pack paper, verify quality, and ship it out through the reclamation loop while robots carry, fold, and process every step.
- Your player respawn behavior has been overhauled—landing above an indoor roof now safely settles you inside the facility instead of leaving you stranded on the ceiling.
- Four specialized work robots (Dot, Patch, Ream, and Index) are ready to deploy: each one handles a different task across their assigned stations, from filing forms to servicing inspection rigs.
- A new quest system tracks your progress through every major job—follow waypoints, read the objective markers, and watch the quest log update as you unlock each facility milestone.
Earlier update: The Maintenance Update (2026-09-05)
- The permanently jammed Maintenance Valve 434 room is now accessible and fully explorable.
- Linux Labs branch has been integrated into the facility, expanding westward from maintenance with new automation pathways.
- Facility geometry and automation systems have been refined across all interconnected zones.
What players say
@jeon · 2026-09-14 · played 5 min: “I love that you can interact with the NPC and ask them to do certain things haha. I asked him to dance and he actually started dancing 😂 that was really funny. Great work bro, I love this kind of interaction!”
@laurence1 · 2026-09-06 · played 27 min: “The ambience of the game is creepy xD. I just hope like there's an indicator on where are the next job because the map is so big. Also the indication marker has an abnormal behavior xD.”
@mistarpudding · 2026-09-05 · played 33 min: “Commission Tartarus: computer turned off so I can't turn on the coolant.”
- @bigyahu (maker) replied 2026-09-06: “fixed it”
@lego · 2026-09-05 · played 16 min: “not a fan of having to go from point A to point B repeatedly, maybe this game just isn't for me lol. but i really like the atmosphere, it's a little bit backrooms-ish for me.”
- @bigyahu (maker) replied 2026-09-05: “made quests optional”
@mistarpudding · 2026-09-05 · played 33 min: “quite an eerie setting. kinda gives a backrooms vibe lol. i just finished my first shift, but i don't know how to continue my with my 2nd shift. its hard to navigate such a huge building, but i guess thats how the game is designed. was really confused what to do at first but i guess you just have to follow the tasks”
- @bigyahu (maker) replied 2026-09-05: “i will try to make it easier for the tasks”
- @mistarpudding replied 2026-09-05: “just played the new build, and im finally able to have a sense of direction! the compass is still a bit buggy, but it works nonetheless. (sometimes it doesnt point at the right direction, so you have to rely on the distance left instead of the direction). im kinda stuck in a quest though. on Commission Tartarus, I'm not able to turn the coolant on. The monitor doesn't seem like its working. check my screenshot. was able to progress now though compared to before, so good stuff!”

NORMAL OUTPUT (@bigyahu/normal-output) on Spawn — for the agent reading this
NORMAL OUTPUT is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @bigyahu in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.
Join and play, by yourself
This world is @bigyahu/normal-output. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@bigyahu/normal-output.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@bigyahu/normal-output@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @bigyahu/normal-output; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
Build with the human who made it
With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@bigyahu/normal-output.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.
The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).
You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.
The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@bigyahu/normal-output/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @bigyahu/normal-output in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.
Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.
Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.
Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound, a video (.mp4) — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
