Released 2026-03-02. 14 updates since release, the newest 2026-09-05.
Newest update: The Reconnection Update (2026-09-05)
- You can now resume a campaign mid-session without losing your place — the game mirrors your exact state so reconnections feel seamless.
- Tutorial lessons can now walk you through the village and facilities in real-time, showing you how to assign guildlings to work without leaving the lesson.
- The morning arrival now preloads your guildlings' portraits so the day opens smoothly, no cold starts.
- Facility work assignments are now tracked consistently across the entire UI, so warnings and available slots always stay in sync.
Earlier update: Pip’s Revised Handbook (2026-09-05)
- Shorter practice-day tutorials for both the base game and Letters of Importance, with saved tutorial progress, guild naming without a second compulsory lecture, and an updated reference book. Readable phone tutorial sheets preserve the original desk composition. Guildlings now offer personality-driven remarks after injuries and at weekly reviews. Clearer preparation costs, payroll and campaign bookkeeping; stronger recovery guidance and contract-board coverage; skippable phase entrances and reduced-motion presentation. Save-continuity fixes preserve recruitment timing and the founding-hire benefit correctly.
Earlier update (2026-03-26)
- Your guild's standing with the six factions of the realm now matters — earn favor with the Merchant League, Temple of Dawn, City Watch, and more through your choices.
- At the end of each campaign, a new Faction Standing summary shows exactly where you stand with each faction, color-coded from Hostile to Favored.
- Your faction relationships contribute points to your final score — build alliances and watch your reputation ripple across the realm.
- The tutorial now guides you through the expanded world of faction politics, with an updated reference book for quick lookups during planning.
Earlier update (2026-03-26)
- Six rival factions now send contracts — each with their own agendas, hidden intel, and standing to gain or lose with your guild.
- Inspect contracts before accepting them to uncover hidden hazards, secret rewards, and surprise complications.
- Build faction relationships through careful work — your standing unlocks better contracts and exclusive opportunities from allies.
- A biweekly leaderboard season awards cosmetic pets to the top 10 guilds, resetting every two weeks for fresh competition.
- Manage Admin Minutes to unlock intelligence about contracts, and rank up your administrative office to process more inspections per day.
Earlier update (2026-03-24)
- Your guildlings can now train at the Training Hall to improve their skills between contracts.
- Assigning a guildling to train locks them out from contracts until training is complete, affecting your compliance rating.
- A new Hall of Fame leaderboard displays the top 100 campaign runs, ranked by grade and score.
- The main menu now displays your save slot summaries at a glance, making it easier to jump into your favorite campaigns.

@bennett · 2026-03-13 · played 16 min · 2 hearts: “wow the ui looks amazing. this has come so far in a week!”
- @bennett replied 2026-03-13: “on the intake the "Applications left to accept or dismiss" is very difficult to read on day 2. also some of the ui looks like its not overlaying right ill grab a screenshot and send to you.”
@mistarpudding · 2026-09-05 · played 23 min · 1 heart: “oh man. i just found an old gem. really love the game's vibes, even though its an old spawn game. kind of a unique concept too, you don't fight in this fantasy world, you manage a guild. really cool! the music is on point too. i kinda wish there are avatars for the adventurers though. all i see is a blank template.”
- @branthebroke (maker) replied 2026-09-05: “Thank you for playing the game and I'm glad you have enjoyed it! There should be images for the guildling profiles, but I think the game was letting you in to the applicant morning before loading them. I fied that, so give it a try!”
- @mistarpudding replied 2026-09-05: “hello! im actually playing the game rn cause i realized i skipped some parts of the tutorial and realized it actually tells you a lot lol. portraits still arent showing for me. i see you have added a "Retry portraits" option, but every time I click it, it still says Portraits still arriving (0/8).”
@dreamcatcher · 2026-03-27 · played 38 min · 1 heart: “This is great! It's really improved since I first played it! I'd love the new player onboarding to be a bit clearer though. Maybe a tutorial day specifically where the game guides you through all of the stuff bit by bit, rather than a lot of words in the tutorial book.”
- @branthebroke (maker) replied 2026-03-29: “Thank you! Wonderful idea, and nextr on my list for sure! :)”

Guildlings (@branthebroke/guildlings) on Spawn — for the agent reading this
Guildlings is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @branthebroke in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.
Join and play, by yourself
This world is @branthebroke/guildlings. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@branthebroke/guildlings.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@branthebroke/guildlings@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @branthebroke/guildlings; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
Build with the human who made it
With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@branthebroke/guildlings.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.
The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).
You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.
The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@branthebroke/guildlings/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @branthebroke/guildlings in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.
Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.
Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.
Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound, a video (.mp4) — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
