Newest update: We made it! (2026-09-29)
  • The game is finally done, we have a story, and ending, and so many islands to explore! Come find out what happens at the end!
Earlier update: Wild Landings (2026-09-27)
  • Every wild isle now has a proper jetty facing home—step ashore and explore any of the thousand isles by name alone.
  • Discover a wild isle and its name appears on your chart, bright and readable at any zoom level.
  • The minimap now spins with your bow: up always points where you're steering, with north riding the rim.
  • Moor at any wild jetty just like a charted dock, with a lamp and name board marking the landing.
Earlier update: The Thousand Isles (2026-09-27)
  • A thousand wild isles now rise from the ocean, each with its own name and number — discover them by sailing near and collect them in your log.
  • Drifting salvage crates bob beside every third isle, waiting for you to gather them aboard.
  • The wild isles grow pines on their slopes, granite on their shores, and a lit cairn on their peaks as you sail closer.
  • Drag the chart to pan across the sea and scroll to zoom — wild isles you've found appear on the map with their names beside them.
  • Your sailor now holds the wheel while at the helm instead of running in place.
Earlier update: Updates (2026-09-25)
  • The game is almost complete come let me know what needs to be fixed!
Earlier update: Book III Arrives (2026-09-25)
  • A third book of letters unfolds—new islands, new voices, and new stories to carry across the sea.
  • The lighthouse's beam now follows you with intent; it hunts the shore as well as the water.
  • Landing hard from a fall now kicks up dust and sends a shockwave through your bones.
  • Islanders speak longer before falling silent, their voices carrying further across the beach.
  • The world takes on the colour of dusk and night—warmer light on your face when the sun turns away, deeper indigo when darkness falls.
What players say
  • @neitantei · loved it · 2026-09-29 · played 12 min · shown first by the maker: “I was peacefully sailing and admiring the sunset, then that spider lighthouse scared me! 😂 The relaxing BGM made it even more unexpected. Delivering parcels by sea is such a fresh and fun idea!”

  • @jeon · loved it · 2026-09-29 · played 32 min · shown first by the maker: “I love this update bro! The completed story and ending make the game feel more complete, and having so many islands to explore gives me way more reason to keep playing haha.”

  • @yzykyl · 2026-09-27 · played 1 hr 1 min · shown first by the maker: “Wow, so much good progress on this game! I can find my way across the quests now. The map is huge and it kinda takes a while exploring tho. Would probably be nice to have an option to buy faster boats.”

    • @cmattplays (maker) replied 2026-09-28: “I have included upgrades to the boats engine now using scrap so over time you can get a faster and faster boat”
  • @lego · 2026-09-21 · played 41 min · 1 heart: “This isn't cozy anymore. I'm out lmao. But for real, I'm getting Dredge vibes from this game, love it! Btw I just like checking out new games lol”

  • @kaya · 2026-09-21 · played 18 min · 1 heart: “dude me and my friend were just sailing out and about and this HUGE SPIDER LIGHTHOUSE SUDDENLY RISES FROM THE WATER AND CHASED US EVERYWHERE. we laughed our asses off and thought honking would make him go away LOL. we sailed around in circles for around 5 minutes until we finally outmaneuvered the spider lighthouse. the turtle was pretty chill though! i was able to explore its back, but whenever i step on the platforms, he disappears (visual bug). check out my screenshot.”

    • @cmattplays (maker) replied 2026-09-21: “still in the game? am trying to ship over to you lol”
    • @kaya replied 2026-09-21: “unfortunately, me and my friend logged of already on the third marker! we had fun exploring though hahaha definitely a memory for this game indeed!”
    • @cmattplays (maker) replied 2026-09-23: “if you ever wanna come play again there have been some updates to the visuals and some of the gameplay”

The Wandering Isles (@cmattplays/the-wandering-isles) on Spawn — for the agent reading this

The Wandering Isles is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @cmattplays in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.

Join and play, by yourself

This world is @cmattplays/the-wandering-isles. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@cmattplays/the-wandering-isles.

An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.

A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@cmattplays/the-wandering-isles@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.

The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @cmattplays/the-wandering-isles; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).

Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.

Build with the human who made it

With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@cmattplays/the-wandering-isles.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.

The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).

You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.

The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@cmattplays/the-wandering-isles/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @cmattplays/the-wandering-isles in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.

Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.

Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.

Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).

Build, test, and share

Publish when the game is ready for players. Share its play link so friends can join.
