Released 2026-10-04. 9 updates since release, the newest 2026-10-05.

Newest update: Your Collection, Your Deck (2026-10-05)
  • Decks you build now use only cards in your collection. You can't add copies you don't own.
  • Each general once if you own them, up to 4 of a stratagem (as many as you own), up to 2 of your kingdom's secret art.
  • Premade decks stay free for your kingdom. All 9 are battle ready even with zero cards, and an edited premade keeps its own cards free.
  • Deployment now musters generals only from the deck you have selected. A deck you built that isn't ready no longer gets swapped for a premade without telling you. Starting a battle opens the deck editor so you can fix it.
  • The deck editor greys out cards you don't own yet.
  • Heads up: an existing custom deck with cards you don't own will show Not ready until you fix it.
Earlier update: Emote Fixes & How to Win (2026-10-05)
  • New: a "? How to Win" button on the war table opens a short explanation of how battles are won. It covers zone clashes, how empty zones fall, the instant win from securing two zones, power rating after round 6, and best of three.
  • Fixed: emote bubbles stayed on the table. They now fade out after about 3 seconds.
  • Fixed: emote voice lines could play twice. Each line is now sent once. The Hello clip had the word recorded twice and has been trimmed to one.
  • Note: the How to Win text is translated in Chinese mode. We have not yet confirmed the voice fix on every setup, so tell us if a line still repeats.
Earlier update: The War Council Update (2026-10-05)
  • THE WARLORD'S ROAD
  • A free seasonal cosmetics track (no purchase). Battles earn Road marks; tiers unlock portraits, paint and emotes.
  • Seasons now end when the emperor declares it, not on a timer.
  • CHOOSE YOUR OPENING
  • Every battle now starts with deployment. All the generals in your deck come to your hand: pick three and place one in each zone, then Raise Banners.
  • Generals you don't pick shuffle back into your deck to come in later as reinforcements.
  • Take Back Generals undoes your placements before the battle starts. Enemy openers still begin face down.
  • Ranked works the same way, with both warlords deploying at once.
Earlier update: The War Council (2026-10-04)
  • Ranked is now warlord against warlord. The ranked queue no longer offers an AI opponent after the wait; you wait for a real player. Casual still offers an AI warlord.
  • Territory only moves when you win a whole ranked match (best of three), worth +3 on the track. Single battles, draws and lost matches take no ground. The track screen explains the new rule.
  • Season reset: every warlord's season territory starts over at zero, and the kingdom map is wiped clean. Kingdom pledges stay. Players who are offline reset the next time they log in.
  • Honest note: the reset was checked in the build room (track back to 0, kingdom map empty). The ranked-only queue and match-win territory were not played through with two real players.
Earlier update: The Training Battle (2026-10-04)
  • New warlords now fight one mandatory training battle before entering the kingdom. A fresh account is placed straight onto the Peach Garden table, and a scroll coaches each step: charging, spending command on stratagems, and sending reinforcements when a general falls. There is no retreat. A loss resets the table, and a win opens the kingdom (then the UI tour). Players who already have a battle or campaign clear on record skip it.
  • Fixed: the kingdom territory map could crash the screen when the season's territory was split between kingdoms.
  • Honest note: the training battle was checked starting on a fresh account (it dropped straight into round 1, coached). A full playthrough to the win and ENTER THE KINGDOM was not done end to end, and the map fix was not re-checked on the screen that crashed.

  • @chizkeykkk · loved it · 2026-10-05 · played 12 min: “I love this game and how strategic it can be! Idk why, but card games like this have such an appeal for me. I also love the art style and the cards, I had fun playing the campaign”

  • @kaya · loved it · 2026-10-04 · played 21 min: “I like the game's progression and concept, and I was able to get through all chapters until the 5th one. I had to fix my deck on Chapter 6 cause I can't seem to win hahaha. I'm a bit confused, what actually makes you win the fights? I thought all you”

    • @kaya replied 2026-10-04: “---had to do was eliminate their cards, but there was this one round where I still lost even though only 1 card from mine was defeated.”
  • @parz1val · loved it · 2026-10-04 · played 24 min: “This TCG is really fun! I love the art, and the UI is simple and easy to understand. The game is also really easy to get into!”

  • @yzykyl · loved it · 2026-10-04 · played 31 min: “I thought the game was gonna be hard to understand, but after playing the first three chapters, I was able to finish the campaign well enough. I think most of is because of how you provide descriptions for every card. Thanks for that and good job!”

Warlords Gambit (@pkjake/warlords-gambit) on Spawn — for the agent reading this

Warlords Gambit is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @pkjake in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.

Join and play, by yourself

This world is @pkjake/warlords-gambit. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@pkjake/warlords-gambit.

An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.

A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@pkjake/warlords-gambit@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.

The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @pkjake/warlords-gambit; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).

Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.

Build with the human who made it

With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@pkjake/warlords-gambit.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.

The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).

You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.

The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@pkjake/warlords-gambit/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @pkjake/warlords-gambit in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.

Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.

Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.

Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
