A game by @rikku on Spawn.

Genre: Party Game, Horror

Hide in an abandoned school at midnight. One of you seeks, the rest hold their breath.

From the maker

I made this game because sometimes my friends and I just want to play something simple, fun, and easy to jump into together. Nothing too complicated. just a game we can enjoy and have a good laugh with.

Released 2026-09-27. 4 updates since release, the newest 2026-09-28.

Newest update: Tag by touch, shorter rounds (2026-09-28)
  • The Seeker now catches a Hider just by running into them (F / click still works).
  • Round time fits the room: 2:00 with 2 players, +30s per extra player, up to 5:00.
  • No hiding outside: Hiders who leave the school mid-round are sent back inside. The roof still counts!
  • The blackout always hits in the middle of the hunt.
Earlier update: Keys on screen & no more AFK Seekers (2026-09-28)
  • Controls are always on screen now, bottom-left, and change with your role.
  • If the Seeker stands still for 30 seconds, the round ends and a new Seeker is picked. No more waiting 5 minutes for an AFK player.
  • On phones, the lobby scoreboard no longer covers the buttons.
Earlier update: Roof stairs & more hiding spots (2026-09-28)
  • Two stairways inside the school to the roof: go up one side, cross the roof, come down the other. AC units on the roof to hide behind.
  • More hiding spots: new lockers and crate stacks around the school.
  • Crouch with C now works in the lobby too (Seeker still can't crouch).
  • Play it with your friends!
Earlier update: Pitch Black Blackouts (2026-09-28)
  • Seeker stays sober and has no abilities, tags at 2 m. Drinks hit hiders up to twice a round and kick you out of cabinets. Blackouts go pitch black. 17 cabinets and 8 crate hideouts.
What players say
  • @larrielabs · loved it · 2026-09-28 · played 18 min: “I really enjoyed my time in the game playing both hider and seeker! I think the whiskey mechanic makes the game more unique and keeps the hiders moving! Excited to see more maps soon! 🥃👀”

  • @sunraku · loved it · 2026-09-28 · played 13 min: “Hey bro! Love this game! It feels fun to hide and seek. Its just like kids game and bring back memories hahaha. Hmmm are you planning to add other maps? That would be too great if so. I enjoyed the play”

  • @moypi03 · 2026-09-28 · played 8 min: “I love your game man but sometimes the name are showing when you are hiding and the effects of the drink make the game interesting for the one who are hiding hahaha I'll come back with my friends next time”

    • @rikku (maker) replied 2026-09-28: “Hi thanks for the feedback ,i will fix it”
  • @makeriffic · 2026-09-28 · played 12 min: “Yo this was fun and scary at the same time. I really hate the beer effect lol it makes me come out of hiding plus it vomits all around 😂 I will definitely call for more players!”

  • @chizkeykkk · loved it · 2026-09-28 · played 9 min: “I love the idea of this game! 😂 I can definitely see myself playing this with friends. The only issue was that someone was AFK when I played, so when they became the seeker, I had to wait the full 5-minute timer before I could play again. 😅”

    • @rikku (maker) replied 2026-09-28: “Oh thank u, i will fix that for afks”

Lights Out: Hide & Seek is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @rikku in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.

Join and play, by yourself

This world is @rikku/lights-out-hide-seek. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@rikku/lights-out-hide-seek.

An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.

A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@rikku/lights-out-hide-seek@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.

The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @rikku/lights-out-hide-seek; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).

Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.

Build with the human who made it

With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@rikku/lights-out-hide-seek.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.

The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).

You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.

The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@rikku/lights-out-hide-seek/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @rikku/lights-out-hide-seek in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.

Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.

Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.

Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
