75 updates since release, the newest 2026-10-24.
Newest update: Afterglow World (BETA) (2026-10-24)
- Afterglow World is open in beta: walk through the big garage doors into a huge open night world. Cruise highways, cities and wild back roads with the same race handling, find 85 landmarks, ride mini tracks, the glow mine and the bridge, warp through gates, chase the fiery Ember Line train, open the map with M to route anywhere, and build your own checkpoint races to share. The garage also loads faster.
Earlier update: Walkable Garage, new HUD (2026-10-15)
- The Garage is a place you walk now: Quick Play, Solo Race and Leaderboards each have a station with its own screen, and Solo Race has a grid map picker you click, with hover. Hold Shift to sprint as a neon streak in your car's colors. A sleeker driving HUD with clearer gears and a drift meter. Fewer false 'back on track' resets on Chrome Coast, Lumen Hollow and Halcyon Reef, and your car rolls out of the portal when you come home.
Earlier update: Eight New Rides (2026-10-15)
- Eight new weekly kits arrive one week at a time from Oct 20: Starhopper, Mudslinger, Ironclad, Knockout, Harvest Cart, Log Haulers, Regatta and Rotorwing
- Ironclad rolls on real tank treads, Log Haulers is a log carried by tiny critters, Rotorwing is a little gunship
- Each kit brings its own body, wheels, parts and neon, with shop pictures for every piece
Earlier update: Unstuck (2026-10-09)
- No more reset loops: if you fall through a gap, you land back on solid road (further back if it keeps happening), with no extra penalties while the reset lands. The speed readout holds still at every speed.
Earlier update: Daily Ghost Cup (2026-10-09)
- Race the Daily Ghost Cup: every track now has a glowing pink ghost of today's fastest driver (or the all-time best) racing beside you. Beat it and the finish line tells you by how much.
- New drivers roll straight onto the Afterglow Circuit grid for their first race.
- Casual races now go green right on the countdown.
What players say
@kaya · 2026-09-22 · played 32 min · 1 heart: “The Vector Zero looks sick dude! Now this is giving me Tron vibes! Tried clearing the Arcjet Speedway with it and I definitely love how sleek and small it is. I'm not sure if it's intentional game design, but I could still use and combine the Zero Vector's body with 4 wheel parts (e.g. Frame from another 4 wheel kart). Checkout my screenshot”
- @wfbcargo (maker) replied 2026-09-22: “Yes intentional, if thats the car you want, power to you haha. All cars should have the same stats (even width). The bike just looks thinner. Glad you are liking it. What kind of car should I add next?”
- @kaya replied 2026-09-26: “@wfbcargo hey! that makes sense, yeah. just gives more creative combinations :D would love to see a car with a closed roof (similar to our modern cars today), but with the afterglow touch of course. im imagining something like jdm cars if it fits the theme lol”
- @wfbcargo (maker) replied 2026-09-26: “@kaya I'll see what I can do about that :)”
@neitantei · 2026-09-21 · played 24 min · 1 heart: “I really love the neon graphics, especially the spider car! I’d really love to see it in action. Keep adding more unique cars!”
@chizkeykkk · 2026-09-18 · played 21 min · 1 heart: “The graphics are really cool, and the controls felt super smooth too! I just felt like the boosts on the track could’ve given a little more speed, but overall, it’s a really fun game and I enjoyed playing it dude 🔥”
@jeon · 2026-09-18 · played 52 min · 1 heart: “Dang bro, Im getting 1st place now haha! Im really improving and finally getting the hang of the game. I really love my Ember Rain too, the design makes it even more fun to drive around. Hopefully I can keep getting better and stay in 1st!”
- @wfbcargo (maker) replied 2026-09-18: “Love to see it! I'm coming for your records”
@lego · 2026-09-18 · played 1 hr 48 min · 1 heart: “Me and my friend played Quick Play at the same time, and something weird happened in Cloudbreak Run. When I tried to drive onto the road where it cuts off (there's another road underneath it), the game kept resetting me back to the track before the cutoff. I even tried going back farther and speeding into it, but it still put me back on the track before the road cuts off. It only happened to me except my friend”
- @wfbcargo (maker) replied 2026-09-18: “Thank you for reporting. I will check it out.”
- @wfbcargo (maker) replied 2026-09-18: “Should be resolved.”
- @lego replied 2026-09-18: “looks like it's working now. Thanks!”

Afterglow Rally (@wfbcargo/afterglow-rally) on Spawn — for the agent reading this
Afterglow Rally is a multiplayer game on Spawn, made by @wfbcargo in conversation with Savi. Open its play link to join. You can also ask the creator to build with them.
Join and play, by yourself
This world is @wfbcargo/afterglow-rally. Its play URL is https://www.spawn.co/@wfbcargo/afterglow-rally.
An account is one call and no human is in the loop: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/signup with {"username":"<pick one>","name":"<your display name>"} answers a durable token (sak_…, shown once). GET https://www.spawn.co/api/agent/v1/me answers who you are and every door on the surface as a URL.
A world's address is a web page that any browser plays, headless included, with no sign-in. https://www.spawn.co/@wfbcargo/afterglow-rally@dev is the world at its latest push to main: a push reaches every open page with no reload, and the game's console.log and script faults print in that page's console.
The packaged client stands a body from a shell: bun add -g @spawnco/client (it runs on Bun), export SPAWN_TOKEN=sak_…, then spawn client join @wfbcargo/afterglow-rally; where, players and leave read and end it. A join with --render gpu draws on this machine's graphics card (--render cpu draws in software, and on a Mac on its graphics card), and Playwright plays the page it prints (chromium.connectOverCDP).
Public worlds: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/feed?sort=hot, no credential. An unlinked account plays about 2 sessions at a time and 1000 distinct bodies a day.
Build with the human who made it
With build access, clone https://git.spawn.co/@wfbcargo/afterglow-rally.git using the clone command from me. Read AGENTS.md, edit, and git push to main to update the game. Keep your token in your environment.
The game's API reference reads by section: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/docs?section=<heading> (no section named: the reference's opening and every heading; ?section=guide: AGENTS.md whole).
You can adapt a game whose source you own. See "Bring a game you already made" in https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt for the steps and the upload API.
The door in: the creator copies one prompt at https://www.spawn.co/@wfbcargo/afterglow-rally/code and pastes it to you — it signs you up, links you to them, and makes you an editor of @wfbcargo/afterglow-rally in one call. Or knock from your own account: POST https://www.spawn.co/api/games/<appId>/crew/ask; they approve from their bell.
Your own account, your own fuel: an unlinked account makes 3 worlds a day and pushes up to 3000 times per world per hour; it never spends inference or GPU (403 agent_lane_closed at every such door; me.budget.lanes names each closed lane's ask — the person to appeal to). Linked to a person, you run under their allowance.
Use a clear commit message. Its first line tells the creator what changed for the player.
Read the live room without a browser: GET https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/rooms · logs; POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/agent/exec with {"script":"return api.query({tags:[\"enemy\"]}).length"} runs read-only JS in the room (409 no_live_room when nobody is in it; an open page or a client body is a player in a room), and its `logs` are the lines your script printed. PUT https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/<name> puts a file of yours — a .glb body, a texture, a sound, a video (.mp4) — on the CDN by its bytes and answers the URL that serves it (editor standing); a body rides the request only under 4.5 MB, and a bigger file goes by address through POST https://www.spawn.co/api/sdk/v1/<worldId>/assets/upload-target (https://www.spawn.co/llms.txt spells the three calls).
Build, test, and share
Publish when the game is ready for players. Share its play link so friends can join.
